Coquille plans yard cleanup
Thursday, September 11, 2008 10:29 AM PDT

The city of Coquille will host its annual fall yard cleanup from Oct. 7 through Oct. 28.

This service is limited to residents within the Coquille city limits. Pickups are for yard and garden trimmings only. No dirt, sod, garbage, metal, home remolding materials, etc., will be accepted.

All materials must be bagged, boxed or bundled in lengths not to exceed 36 inches and be placed in an easily accessible location at the curbside or along the driveway. There will be no exceptions to the limit of 10 bags, boxes or bundles per household each week.

To be put on the list for pickup service, call City Hall at 396-2115, ext. 205, and provide your name, address and phone number.

The city crew will pick up on Tuesday of each week. Requests for pickup must be made no later than 4 p.m. on the previous Monday. Calls received after 4 p.m. on Monday will not be picked up until Tuesday, one week later. Calls received after 4 p.m. on Oct. 27 will not receive pickup service by city personnel and other arrangements will have to be made.

Beach cleanup next weekend

The annual SOLV great Oregon fall beach cleanup will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Volunteers are asked to check in, pick up a litter bag, and head down to the beach. SOLV suggests volunteers bring gloves and wear sturdy shoes. Groups of 20 or more are asked to register in advance. Registration site information is available online at http://www.solv.org, or call (800) 333-SOLV.
