At first, it’s hard to wrap your mind around what Matt Baker and Alex Zerbe call a job. Their job description involves making people laugh while doing things like spearing vegetables in mid air and juggling six balls as Brothers from Different Mothers.

Baker and Zerbe have chosen this as their profession for the last seven years, and will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Egyptian Theatre.

Far from jugglers at children’s birthday parties, the Brothers perform at corporate events, colleges, cruise ships and theaters across the world. Their resume includes a Guiness World Record and appearances on “America’s Got Talent,” a press release said.

Baker was born and raised in Eugene. At 17, he toured Europe as part of the first ever international footbag (hackysack) team.

Zerbe was born and raised in Seattle. He was also a footbag player, and took eighth place at the World Footbag Championships in 2002.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and children under 14. This event has a PG-13 rating.
