Tutors sought for literacy council

Wednesday, October 01, 2008 |
The Coos County Literacy Council is short on tutors and will be recruiting volunteers to tutor individuals of all ages.
New tutor training will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, and the following day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Attendance at both sessions is required to receive certification. Registration cost is $15, and scholarships are available.
Light meals and refreshments will be offered throughout the training, and lunch will be provided on Saturday.
For those who are interested, call Mary at 888-4328 by Tuesday, Oct. 7, to register for training. The program is also seeking new students. Individuals who would like to improve their basic education skills or work toward a particular goal can sign up for tutoring by calling the number above.
