Forest Service personnel will hold informal open houses on a proposal to designate motorized use on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and amend the forest plans.
A Notice of Intent was published in the Federal Register. The public scoping letter is available for viewing at
www.fs.fed.us/r6/rogue-siskiyou/projects/travel. The public will have an opportunity to provide public comments in writing at the open houses, scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each evening.
n Agness: Monday, Oct. 6 — Forest Service’s Agness Guard Station, 04156 Agness Road.
n Brookings: Tuesday, Oct. 7 — Best Western Beachfront Inn, 16008 Boat Basin Road.
n Gold Beach: Thursday, Oct. 9 — Curry County Fairground’s Showcase Building, 29392 Ellensburg Ave.
People are asked to provide an comments on the proposal by Oct. 14 to be considered in the preparation of a draft environmental impact statement.
