Starting this week the Coos County Assessor’s Office will be open through the lunch hour.

The new hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Employees in the office will stagger lunch periods to keep the doors open all day, an Assessor’s Office press release said.

For more information, call Chief Deputy Assessor/Assessor-elect Adam Colby at 396-3121, ext. 272, or e-mail at ccaocda@co.coos.or.us.

Close Guidelines

Amen there is common sense wrote on Oct 1, 2008 6:55 AM:

Now this takes the cake. It hasn't been that long that Bob Main wanted to close the Assessor's office four hours a day because he lost staff. Now the new kid on the block is a able to expand office hours with a lot less staff then Bob Main had. Just think???? Since he is now going to be a commissioner he can close the courthouse down for four hours a day. Looks like if you actually know how to manage then you can do it with whatever staff you have. Guess we now know that Bob can't manage. Keep up the good work Mr. Colby. The county is lucky to have good people like you.
