Jordan Cove project tops port’s agenda
Tuesday, September 30, 2008 10:44 AM PDT

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay is meeting tonight to decide whether to extend agreements with Jordan Cove Energy Project and Weyerhaeuser Co. over property on Coos Bay’s North Spit.

The Port of Coos Bay entered into agreements to purchase all of Weyerhaeuser’s property on the North Spit.

A memorandum of understanding also stipulates that Jordan Cove has the option to purchase some of the property on which to build a liquefied natural gas terminal.

The existing agreement expires at the end of this year.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. with an executive session in the port’s commission chambers, located at 125 Central Ave., suite 230, in Coos Bay.

A special open meeting of the board of commissioners is to take place immediately following the closed-door session.
