He was small. But he was mean.

He was all rooster.

Coquille police officers went out into the community to find a “vicious chicken at large” on Friday. A caller phoned dispatchers at 1:34 p.m. complaining about the fowl situation at a location near North Fir and West 18th streets.

“I believe (officers) went out looking for it and couldn’t find it,” Coquille Police Record Specialist Kim Holderfield said this morning.

Holderfield said the unidentified woman escaped the attack with only a scratch.

“Those roosters can be pretty mean,” Holderfield said.

Cute story but I am more concerned with the poor writing and spelling of the comments! That is truly sad.

I think the story is a good laugh at a time when news is all grim. I am more concerned with how poorly spelled and written the comments are! That is truly sad.

The cops won't respond if my business burglar alarm goes off, but they'll go out to find a rogue chicken?

I think we should get the Big Foot hunters on the job. They could use a break from tracking Saw-Squash (I think he looked like a pumpkin) and can search for a little feet / big beak!

There be chickens looking for victims at this very moment, that God KFC controls the majority of the attack fowls.

I fully agree with Laughing At It All. We are taking ourselves far too seriously lately and a little comic relief goes a long way to improve a person's day. It sure made me laugh. True that could have been a child on the street and true somebody could have possibly been seriously hurt but guess what??? Everybody is fine! So let's get a laugh out of it and move on. I'm still smiling when I read that story again.

I agree that this probaly shouldn't have made the paper... but in light of all the serious events happening in our world today, it made me laugh and I got lots of miles out of it during the day. Thank you for posting useless information from time to time...I needed the comic relief this week.

The chicken attacked the woman at 1;34 P. M. I am quite sure that is in the afternoon.
How would you like to be walking down the street and a bird attacked you for no reason. Do not make light of it. It could have been some little tyke and it could have put out his eye or something. News is news
