Roblan plans tour of South Coast hospitals

State Rep. Arnie Roblan, D-Coos Bay, has announced that members of the Oregon House Rural Policy Committee will visit health care facilities across the Southwest Oregon to learn more about health care issues.

The legislators plan to hear first-hand from regional medical practitioners and health care providers about the issues. Committee members will use the information to draft legislation for the upcoming 2009 legislative session.

The tour will make five South Coast stops, concluding with a visit to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport.

Thursday, Oct. 2

n Brookings: 1 to 1:40 p.m. — Oak Street Health Center

n Gold Beach: 2:10 to 3:45 p.m. — Curry General Hospital

n Port Orford: 4:15 to 5 p.m. — Curry Clinic

Friday, Oct. 3

n Coquille: 9 to 11 a.m. — Coquille Valley Hospital

n Reedsport: 12:10 to 2:10 p.m. — Lower Umpqua Hospital
