Bruins fall to Fortuna

Brookings-Harbor fell to Fortuna (Calif.) 35-0 in a demoralizing nonleague loss.

“They were a more experienced team. We just haven’t been able to get our kids to believe they’re good enough to win a ball game right now,” said Bruins coach Jim Keys.

North Lake pounds Powers

North Lake handed Powers a 30-14 loss at Powers. A 72-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and and a 62-yard scoring run from Cruisers quarterback Kyle Blanton weren’t enough for Powers.

“We need to pick it up and play four quarters of football,” said Powers coach Nick Gonzalez.
