Coos County sheriff’s deputies arrested a North Bend man early today following a crash on Libby Lane.

At 1 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle accident on Libby Lane near milepost 2.5, west of Coos Bay.  Emergency personnel, as well as a deputy, went to the scene. They found a 2006 Chevrolet pickup fully engulfed in fire.

The driver, Richard Shore, 28, was nearby. He had minor injuries but refused medical attention, police said. Following the deputy’s investigation, police arrested Shore on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was taken to the Coos Bay Police Department and later released to a relative.
