Youth Sports: Pre Run for Kids deadline for T-shirts is Monday

Monday is the final day to register and receive a T-shirt for the Pre Run for Kids.

The 3-mile race will be held on Sept. 21, starting at 1:30 p.m. in downtown Coos Bay. It is open to students in grades 1 through 8.

Registration forms are available at the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon or online at www.bgc-sworegon.org.

The entry fee is $15 with a shirt or $10 without through Monday. The race is sponsored by BnT Promotional Products, Pepsi and Columbia Distributing Company.

Punt, Pass & Kick

The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition will be held on Sunday, Sept. 14.

The free event starts at 1 p.m. at Marshfield High School. The competition is hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon and is available for all boys and girls ages 8 to 15 as of Dec. 31, 2008. Children are split into four age groups.

A copy of the participant’s birth certificate is required at registration.

Soccer coaches needed

Volunteer coaches are needed for the Boys & Girls Club’s fall soccer season.

Anyone interested should have an interest in soccer and in working with youth players.
