The fall session of Women of the Word interdenominational Bible study begins with 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. study groups at this year’s host church For more information, call Jenny at 396-5580.

The “Armchair Film Adventure” series at Coos Bay Public Library continues this month at 2 p.m. in the library’s Myrtlewood meeting room with tour of the Spanish islands. For more information, call 269-1101.

Sea Breeze Harmony chorus invites women singers to come and experience four-part a cappella harmony. The chorus practices  from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 123 Ocean Blvd., Coos Bay. Auditions for singers and dancers for Little Theatre on the Bay’s fifth-annual “Little Ol’ Big Band Show” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the theater

Women in Black, a world-wide movement of people committed to demonstrating for peaceful means of conflict resolution, stands at the corner of Broadway Avenue and Newmark Street at noon. Coos Chapter Eastern Star and North Bend Masonic Lodge will host bingo at 6:45 p.m. at the Masonic Center, 2002 Union Ave., North Bend. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Concessions will be available. The Concerned Citizens of Empire will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Java Jones Coffee Shop, 757 Newmark Ave., Empire. For more information, call 888-6805.

The Coquille Valley Elks will meet at 7 p.m. at the lodge, 54942 Maple Heights Road, in Coquille. Dinner is served from 5 to 7 p.m., and initiation is held generally during the meeting on the last Tuesday of the month. Board meetings are held on second and fourth Mondays of each month at 5:30 p.m.

The Acktion Club will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at Bay Area Christian Fellowship, 175 S. Third St., Coos Bay. It is a community service organization, comprising developmentally disabled adults, sponsored by the Bay Area Kiwanis Club. Prospective members and volunteers can attend meetings and participate in the club’s community service and fundraising projects.
