The McAuley Ministry Fund has awarded Coos Elderly Services a $48,000 grant to assist the elderly and disabled of Coos, Curry and Western Douglas counties in managing their financial affairs.

The fund was established by the Sister of Mercy Omaha Regional Community to provide resources to ministries involving Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Associates, a press release said. The fund resulted from the contributions of generous donors who chose the Sisters of Mercy based on their record as good stewards of resources.

The Sisters of Mercy have a long history of serving communities through their work in education, medical care, housing, immigrant assistance and many other areas.
