The next Bay Area Seniors’ Computer Club will be held Friday.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and for basic computer help.

Judy Lochman discuss digital photography at  10 a.m.  She will provide tips on technique.

Lochman also will display three of her cameras and discuss how to compare price and feature

Having hope

The Coquille Christian Community Church will hold their 10th-annual Fall Contemporary Concert to Celebrate Jesus at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, at the church, 625 E 10th St. The theme is “I Have a Hope,” referring I Peter 3:15.

Donations will be accepted to benefit the Coquille and Myrtle Point food banks

Mill showdown

The 27th-annual Colgate Country Showdown Oregon State Final will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, at The Mill Casino-Hotel Salmon Room, 3201 Tremont St., North Bend.

The event is hosted by The Mill Casino-Hotel in North Bend and KSHR  and KMJX in Coos Bay.

Admission is $5. Tickets are on sale now at the KoKwell Gift Shop inside the Mill Casino-Hotel.

Giving clothes away

The North Bend Church of Christ, 2761 Broadway, Coos Bay is having their 10th-annual free clothing give away. The event is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Saturday. For more information, call the church at 756-4844.

Shots for Tots

The Bay Area Rotary Club will host its annual Shots for Tots and Teens special immunization clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday at the Coos County Health Depart-ment office, 1975 McPherson Ave. in North Bend.

Empire reunion

Students and teachers from the old Empire Grade School, later known as the Market Street School, can attend the annual potluck reunion will be held  Saturday at Simpson Park in North Bend.

Hitch art

An art opening for local artist Curt Hitch will be held from 1 to 3 p.m.  Saturday at the South Slough Interpretive Center, four miles south of Charleston on Seven Devils Road. Hitch will be on hand to meet visitors and discuss his pieces.

Art’s journey

There will be an “Off the Walls” art reception for Victoria Tierney from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Ever-green Court Independent Retirement, 451 O’Connell, North Bend. In this collection, she not only shows her artwork, but tells the story of the journey each piece took on its way to her collection.  The art will be on display through October.
