Due to the high cost of fuel, Agness has combined all of its summer events into one Summer Extravaganza, beginning at 11 a.m. For more information or to donate a prize, call the Old Agness Store at (541) 247-9181, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Chair yoga will be held from 1 to 2 p.m.  at Unity by the Bay, 2100 Union St., North Bend.   There is no charge, but donations are appreciated.  For more information, call Jevanna Toribio at 756-5790.

A “Heavy Fighter Practice and Middle Ages Social,” will be held from 4 to 8 p.m.  in the gym of Ocean Crest Elementary School, at 1010 Allegany St. in Bandon. For more information, call Robert MacManiman. 269-5003.

The Coos County Chapter of Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program will hold a community forum from 6 to 8 p.m. at the South Coast Hospice Community Bereavement and Education Center, 1620 Thompson Road, Coos Bay. For more information, call Steve Krajcir at 267-4156.

Classes on body awareness are offered from 11 a.m. to noon at the First Presbyterian Church, 438 Elrod Ave., in Coos Bay. Easy stretching, yoga postures, qi gung and tai chi will be incorporated into a smooth, gentle program focusing on balance, breathing and posture. For more information, call Dee Hamil at 888-4946.

Dance lessons will be offered from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bandon Grange Farwest Hall on state Highway 42 South, just east of U.S. Highway 101. A dance follows the lessons from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Those attending can wear casual clothing, and singles and couples are welcome. No smoking or alcohol is allowed. The Port Orford Rotary Club will hold its 10th-annual Show and Shine Car Show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, at Driftwood School in Port Orford. The barbecue will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The North Bend United Methodist Church will conduct a worship service from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. each Sunday during August in the far west end of the parking lot at Sunset Bay State Park. For more information, call Pastor Jerry Steele at 756-6959.

A new class at Unity of Bandon will examine metaphysical meanings. The introductory Bible class, “Wisdom for a Lifetime,” will be from 9:30 to 10:30 Sunday mornings.  Unity of Bandon is one mile south of 11th Street on Highway 101.

A free ear, nose and throat clinic will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the North Bend First United Methodist Church, 2289 Meade Ave. For more information, call 756-6959.

A free movie, “Boy’s Town,” will be shown at 2:30 p.m. at the North Bend United Methodist Church, 2289 Meade St., North Bend.  For more information, call Vicki Morgan at 267-3969.

Corvallis emergency room physician Dr. Paul Hochfeld will present a free film and discussion on the country’s ailing health care system at 3 p.m. in the Bandon Public Library conference room.
