* Coos Bay police officers arrested a Coos Bay man on Tuesday, after a report of a hit-and-run accident.

At about 6:36 p.m., dispatchers received a report of a possibly intoxicated driver who hit a vehicle and continued through the parking lot of the Tioga Hotel, 275 N. Broadway. Upon investigation, officers learned that a 2000 Kia Utility struck a 2003 Toyota pickup.

Officers then arrested James Luther, 59, on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and driving while suspended. He was taken to the Coos County jail, where he was released on citation.

* Coos Bay police officers arrested a man and woman Tuesday on drug charges.

At about 2 p.m., officers pulled over a 2007 silver Chevrolet pickup for a traffic stop, near the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Butler Road.

They then arrested Christopher Pittman, 23, of Yucaipa, Calif., and Ashley Mickelson, 22, of Gold Beach.

Pittman was taken to Coos County jail, where he was charged on possession of methamphetamine, unlawful delivery of methamphetamine and providing false information to the police. Mickelson also was jailed on possession of methamphetamine and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.

Pittman was released on his own recognizance. Mickelson remained in jail this morning on $100,000 bail.

* Coos County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Coquille woman Monday on a menacing charge.

At about 4:43 p.m., deputies went to 97684 Hudson Creek Lane about a dispute between Jeff Martindale and his neighbor, Cindy L. Conquest. Officers arrested Conquest on charges of menacing and pointing a firearm at another.

Conquest was taken to Coos County jail, where she was held today on $15,000 bail.
