Fatal crash
Wednesday, August 27, 2008 | 2 comment(s)
Coos Bay resident Teresa M. Winter died in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday, about 10 miles west of Sutherlin.
At about 1:15 p.m., Douglas County sheriff’s deputies investigated an accident in the 4600 block of Hubbard Creek Road. A 1991 Ford pickup driven by Winter, 49, had traveled west on the road when it drifted off the south side of the roadway and struck a bridge abutment, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office press release said. The pickup continued off the road, struck a tree and caught fire. Winter, the only occupant, died at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation by the sheriff’s office. Next of kin has been notified.
