Sunday
Beach worship
The North Bend United Methodist Church will host an informal worship service from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sunday, at the far west end of the parking lot at Sunset Bay State Park. If the weater is bad, the service will be held in a kiosk at Bastendorff State Park.

Collage art
The art show “Collage a Trois,” at the Florence Events Center through Sunday, features work of three Oregon Coast artists.
Nan Forsberg-Hammons, Susan Lehman and Pat Snyder first came together when they were asked to teach a collage workshop for the Bay Area Artists Association at the Coos Art Museum in the summer of 2006.
The center’s art galleries are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, evenings and weekend during select events. The FEC is located at 715 Quince St., Florence.
Pinwheel peace
For the second year, Bandon plans to take part in the International Art and Literacy Project: Pinwheels for Peace. The art installation project was started in 2005 by two art teachers in Florida as a way for students to express their feelings about what’s going on in the world and their lives.
Joann Drapkin will be coordinating the local Pinwheels for Peace project this year.
She will instruct participants in creating pinwheels from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Unity of Bandon, on U.S. Highway 101, one mile south of 11th Street.

A fundraiser garage sale benefiting the South Alano Club will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 1836 Union St., North Bend, across from the North Bend Public Library.

Salvation Army VBS
A vacation Bible school for children in grades one through six will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at The Salvation Army Worship and Service Center, 1155 Flanagan Ave., Coos Bay.
There will be Bible classes, recreation and crafts. Dinner will be included at no charge.

The Educational Enhance-ment Center of Coquille, 650 E. Second St., offers classes and workshops throughout the week.
Terry Magill of Myrtle Point offers drawing and painting classes from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays. The cost is $10.
A drawing techniques, portrait and figure drawing class is offered at the center from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays. The cost is $6 for a drop in or $25 for five weekly sessions.
