Museum sheds light on antique technology

The Marshfield Sun Printing Museum has a new exhibit of antique office technology.
Visitors can get a close-up look at a 100-year-old printer/copier, a 90-year-old mimeograph machine, antique typewriters and more.
The Marshfield Sun was a working newspaper office and print shop from 1891 to 1944.
Personal tours led by trained museum volunteers offer visitors a chance to see and learn about several different presses and other printing equipment, as well as printing in general.
The museum also is home to historic photographs and archives. Admission is free.
The museum is located at the north end of Front Street on Coos Bay’s historic waterfront.
Summer hours are 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday through Labor Day.
