Five golfers swept their divisions during the two-day South Coast swing of the Umpqua Dairy Juniors golf tournaments last week.

The golfers played at Forest Hills Country Club in Reedsport and Coos Country Club as part of a statewide series of individual Oregon Golf Association events.

Reedsport’s Monica Vaughn won the intermediate girls (12- to 14-years-old) division both days, while fellow Reedsport resident Montana Frame shared the boys intermediate (12-13) division title at Coos Country Club.

The most impressive scores at Forest Hills were turned in by a pair of younger golfers.

Conor Oliver of Sandy won the intermediate boys division with an even-par score of 72, which was three shots better than any boys in the older divisions.

Meanwhile, Gigi Stoll of Portland broke par with a 1-under 36 to win the pee wee girls (8-11) division at Forest Hills. Stoll also won the same age group at Coos Country Club a day later with a 40.

The pee wees played just nine holes, while all the other golfers played 18 holes.

Vaughn shot a 77 at Forest Hills to easily win the intermediate girls age group. She had an 80 to win by five strokes at Coos Country Club.

In the intermediate boys division, Frame and Conner Kumpula of Albany shared the intermediate boys title with matching scores of 72.

Andy Rodby of Redmond swept the titles in the junior boys (16-17) division, shooting the best score of the day at Coos Country Club with a 4-under 68 a day after shooting 79 to win at Forest Hills.

Jay Puffinburger of Springfield swept the boys (14-15) titles with a 75 each day.

Taylor Babcock of Lake Oswego had a 78 each day to win the girls (15-17) age group.

Kevin Geniza of Corvallis won the pee wee boys title at Coos Country Club with a 37, while former South Coast resident Andy Armstrong won the title at Forest Hills with a 42.

Results from each course are listed in today’s Scoreboard.
