An Oregon State Police trooper was forced to kill an Angus bull Friday morning after it was struck by a log truck.

Oregon State Police dispatchers received a report of the accident at 1:50 a.m. The Angus bull was on the shoulder of state Highway 42 south, at milepost 4.2, near Lampa Mountain, when it moved into the path of a 2004 Western Star log truck, driven by Teddy M. Berglund, no address available.

The bull was hurt, but no ear tags or brands were visible. An OSP trooper contacted nearby residents to try to find the bull’s owners before having to kill it.
