Zonta to host booth at festival

Monday, August 18, 2008 |
Coos Bay Area Zonta will kick off its second biggest fundraiser of the year during the Blackberry Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24.
The community service organization will host a chocolate booth at the festival. The sales of homemade chocolate will fund Zonta’s local and international service projects.
On the local level, the group awards scholarships to deserving women, working to better the cause for women’s issues. It also gives grants to women and children’s organizations to help better the lives of women and girls. Last year, Zonta’s Little Red Schoolhouse Project raised more than $8,700 to purchase and distribute thousands of school supplies to low-income children throughout Coos County.
