Ledig third at Hershey meet
From Staff Reports
Sunday, August 17, 2008 |
Bandon resident Claire Ledig placed third in her event at the Hershey Track & Field Games in Pennsylvania last weekend.
Ledig was chosen to compete at the nationals in the standing long jump after winning that event for the 13- and 14-year-old age group at the Oregon State Meet.
In the national meet, Ledig jumped 7 feet, 10 inches.
Ledig, who will be an eighth-grader at Harbor Lights Middle School this year, just missed the Oregon state title in the 100 meters and also was part of the state champion relay team with Lindsey Wright and Ashton Mann of Reedsport and Peyton Babb of Powers.
A story in last Saturday’s edition of The World incorrectly identified Ledig.
