The following represents recent action on cases in Coos County Circuit Court:

Convicted

• Julio C.P. Martinez, 24, of Coos Bay, was convicted on July 22, 2008, of felony delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a minor and sentenced to five years probation. He also was ordered to pay $2,914 in fines.

• Gary Carson, 21, of Coos Bay, was convicted on June 12, 2008, of felony possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to 14 days in jail and 18 months probation. He also was ordered to pay $647 in fines.

Innocent/dismissed

• David C. Grimes: On July 1, 2008, a jury found defendant innocent of menacing, reckless endangering, second-degree trespass, third-degree criminal mischief and unlawful use of a weapon.

• David Blondell: On Aug. 5, 2008, the court dismissed charges of two counts of felony first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

• Gary Carson: On Oct. 22, 2007, the court dismissed charges of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a minor.

It who talks and who doesn't. Get a clue. And sometimes hoe well they like you. They say you are suppose to know what's in your house or vehicle, But if your the head of the parole and probabtion dept. it's okay to have drug parafanalia.

How is it that Julio Marinez gets off with just probation and fines??? Even a first time possesion of meth offender gets at least 30 days in jail... plus all the other charges as well.. What is happening to the legal system in Coos County???

How is it that Mr.Carson get the charges of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a minor dropped by the court and Mr.Marinez is convicted for the same charge.
