South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team investigators arrested two North Bend residents Tuesday on methamphetamine-related charges.

At about 5 p.m., Oregon State Police troopers and North Bend police stopped a green 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup truck at the intersection of Connecticut and Sherman avenues. An OSP drug detection canine located half a gram of methamphetamine, and officers also uncovered scales and packaging material in the vehicle.

SCINT investigators responded and arrested the driver, Nonda J. Rider, 46; and a passenger, Jesse J. Irvin, 33, on charges of possession and delivery of methamphetamine. They were taken to Coos County jail, where they were booked and lodged. Irvin was still in custody this morning, but jail staff said they had no record of Rider.

this county has the worst corrupt police force in the whole state and violates more peoples rights then any other county in oregon this county needs to be investigated by US Under Cover Federal Marshals and these Corrupt Cops need to be Brought to justice and convicted for all the crimes that they have committed against all these poor people that do not even know there rites as a American Citizen that they set up and lie to and abuse on a daily Basis. Where does any of this have to do with peace officers ???
This is not what the people ever intended when peace officers were hired to keep the peace. this has gotten way out of hand. when natzi tactics are being used on all the people.

To Valerie, whom made the comment on Aug 12, concerning the arrest of the man and woman. You stated that you witnessed the incident and that the whole thing was a total violation of their rights. Is there anyway you can contact me? The man is my son and he states that you were right, the whole thing was setup. Please contact me at

Valerie, Do you honestly feel that rights were violated here? Read again what the officers found in the vehicle. They did a great job! I agree with Cookie, find people who actually know what they are doing at the Coquille Hilton..

Valerie, Would you be making the same comment if they were other than white? I think not!

I watched this whole incident from my motel room from about five feet away and I have never seen such a violation of someone's rights. These two citizens not only had their rights violated they were harrassed and lied to multiple times by OSP, NBPD and SCINT. If this is the lengths that our police have to go to so they can make an arrest I hope that I never get pulled over.

How does the jail lose an inmate? Was she ever really arrested? Was there foul play on the part of an officer? How does one disappear? Who is going to get fired over this?

I think Andy Jackson and the DA need to focus on hiring competant people to work in our jail system instead of trying to expand the jail and its staff by asking citizens of this county to pony up more money.
