The following is a list of needs from nonprofit and other groups that provide community services.
Young Life seeks sound equipment
Bay Area Young Life is looking for sound equipment: microphones, microphone stands, P.A. speakers, monitors, a drum kit or drum parts, cymbals and cymbal stands.
For more information and to make donations, call Todd Tardie at 290-6708 or Tad Jensen at 260-6334.
Reedsport center needs bed/bath items
The Family Resource Center in Reedsport needs bath towels and twin sheets. Towels or sheets in good repair can be dropped off Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the center, at 5 St. John’s Way, where they will be distributed to people in need.
Bikes needed for SHAMA House
The Self Help and Mutual Aid House, a program of the Mental Health Association of Southwestern Oregon, provides a place for adults living with mental illness to gather for socialization and skill building. Organizers are developing a bike system to enable members to be mobile and involved in the community. They serve approximately 70 individuals per month and most do not drive.
More bikes are needed.
Members who are knowledgeable will repair the bikes for safe use. Some bikes will be available for members to have or borrow and others will be sold at a discounted price as a fundraiser. For more information, call SHAMA at 756-2057. Donations are tax deductible.
