This is the final week to register for fall soccer and flag football at the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon.

All boys and girls in grades 1 through 6 are eligible for soccer, while those in grades 3 through 6 can sign up for flag football. If enough players sign up, there will be boys and girls teams for flag football, otherwise teams will be coed.

Practices may start as early as Aug. 25, and players may not participate in team practices until their registrations are complete and they have been assigned a team.

The Boys & Girls Club membership fee is $15 and the sports fee is $55. Fee reductions and scholarships are available for those who qualify.

For more information, call the club’s sports line at 267-6573.

Coaches needed

Volunteer coaches are needed for the Boys & Girls Club’s fall soccer and flag football teams. Coaches should have a background in their sport and an interest in working with kids.

Teams are available at all levels — first through sixth grade for soccer and third through sixth grade for flag football.

Those interested in becoming coaches can call Karen Bauder at 267-6573.

Returning coaches are encouraged to stop by the Boys & Girls Club office to register soon.

Coquille registration

A flag football registration session will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Coquille High School football field.

All boys and girls in third and fourth grades are encouraged to sign up for the team. Because of a limited number of coaches, only one team is planned for Coquille, with a limit of the first 18 players to sign up. If a second coach is found, a second team may be formed.

For more information, call 267-6573.
