Oregon State troopers cited a Brookings man Tuesday following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 101 north of Reedsport.

A 1998 Nissan pickup truck and a 1997 Ford pickup truck crashed at milepost 201, near Booth Road, at about 10:24 p.m., according to an OSP press release.

The driver of the Nissan, Ryan Freeman, 20, was cited on charges of failure to drive within his lane and failure to carry proof of insurance. Freeman declined medical attention, police said. The driver of the Ford, Heather Decamp, 35, of Florence, and her two passengers also declined medical care, though their vehicle was towed from the crash site.

A vehicle fell into the slough area, Tuesday, near the Best Western Motel in Reedsport.

At about 5 p.m., Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Reedsport Police officers received  the report of a car or truck in the water along Winchester Avenue. The model and make of the vehicle, along with the name of the driver were unavailable at press time. No injuries were reported.
