Some students at Lincoln Elementary in Coquille just had one extra hour of reading each week in the Start Making a Reader Today program.

Third trimester honor roll students named at Coquille High School
Coquille High School’s third trimester honor roll for the 2007-08 school year, includes students with a GPA from 3.5 to 4.0. Principal’s lists students must have a GPA from 3.0 to 3.49.

Head Start applications accepted for 2008-09
The UCAN Head Start is accepting applications for children ages 3-5 for the 2008-09 school year. Children from low-income families and those with disabilities are welcome.

Community scholarship fund awards go to Bay Area students
During the 2008-09 academic year, 96 North Bend High School recent and former graduates plan to attend more than 33 different colleges/universities or trade schools. They’ll have $133,500 in financial assistance through the North Bend Community Scholarship Fund to help them.
