On behalf of the Coos Art Museum Board of Directors, I would like to express our appreciation for the consistently outstanding and timely coverage The World newspaper has given to the Coos Art Museum art exhibitions and events. The recent full-page coverage of the 15-annual Maritime Art Exhibit helped to generate significant interest within the community and has, by attendance, contributed to our fundraising efforts.

Local and regional artists participated in the Plein Air Paint Out that was held July 19 and many of their works were sold at the Maritime Exhibit to benefit the museum. Your support and interest is very much appreciated.

Gerald H. Miller, president

Coos Art Museum Board of Directors

Please consider this... wrote on Aug 4, 2008 3:26 PM:

Dear Mr. Miller,
I am hoping that you will propose that the Coos Art Museum take over the responsibility of the new airport's art department. The museum could have quarterly art exhibits featuring local and regional artists of all kinds. In turn this would promote the museum and encourage new members, supporters of the permanent collection and would provide a mechanism for local artists to sell their work and grow a stronger art community.

This seems like a win-win situation for the taxpayers, the airport and the museum.

How about it?
