The Coquille police and fire departments will partner on a free 2008 National Night Out event. The city invites people in the community to join in from 2 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday at Coquille High School.

The event will include a barbecue, a bicycle-skateboard rodeo, a dunk tank, a helicopter, a game carnival with prizes and a stun-gun demonstration. The Coquille Fire Department will be on hand and Oregon’s Hunting Association will have its hunting simulator there.National Night Out is a community-police partnership held on the first Tuesday of every August since 1984.
