Ike Launstein, Reedsport School District superintendent, will be the featured guest speaker at the Douglas County Democrats first Tuesday meeting at 5 p.m. at Bedrock’s Pizzeria, 2165 Winchester Ave. in Reedsport. For more information, call Richard at (541) 271-9512.

The Dolphin Players will read the play “The American Dream,” by Edward Albee, at their next meeting, 7 p.m. at the North Bend Public Library, 1800 Sherman Ave. The club meets on the first Tuesday of every month.

Women in Black, a world-wide movement of people committed to demonstrating for peaceful means of conflict resolution, stands at the corner of Broadway Avenue and Newmark Street at noon. Coos Chapter Eastern Star and North Bend Masonic Lodge will host bingo at 6:45 p.m. at the Masonic Center, 2002 Union Ave., North Bend. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Concessions will be available. A diabetes education review class will meet on from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month, at Bay Area Hospital, 1775 Thompson Road, Coos Bay. The local chapter of the Daughters of the Nile will meet on first Tuesday of the month at Coney Station, 295 S. Broadway, Coos Bay. Daughters of the Nile is a philanthropic women’s organization made up of relatives of Shriners. Sea Breeze Chorus will hold rehearsals at 6:30 p.m  at the First United Methodist Church, 123 Ocean Blvd., in Coos Bay. Women of all ages who enjoy singing are invited to attend the rehearsals to learn about the barbershop style of four-part harmony. For more information, call Elaine at 759-2339.

TOPS OR No. 300 will meet at 9 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 2420 Sherman Ave., in North Bend. Weigh-in will begin at 8 and the meeting starts at 9:30. TOPS No. 114, North Bend, will meet at 6 p.m. at the Church of Christ, just off Broadway on Alder Ridge Road. TOPS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to losing weight sensibly. For more information, call 267-2965 or 266-0547.

Tuesday Bingo at Coos Bay Eagles No. 538  will begin at 6:30 p.m. The lodge is located at 568 S. Second St., Coos Bay. For more information, call 267-6613.

THE NORTH BEND SENIOR CENTER’S luncheon program is available to everyone, not just seniors. Buffet-style meals are available from 11:30 a.m. until everyone is served, Mondays through Fridays. Meals cost $5 and monthly menus are available, at 1470 Airport Lane. For more information, call 756-7622.

The Coquille Valley Elks will meet at 7 p.m. at the lodge, 54942 Maple Heights Road, in Coquille. Dinner is served from 5 to 7 p.m., and initiation is held generally during the meeting on the last Tuesday of the month. Board meetings are held on second and fourth Mondays of each month at 5:30 p.m.
