MEDFORD — A Medford man who hit his teenager daughter with a hammer in a hospital parking lot so that he could use her pain medication will serve six months in jail.

Robert Cisero pleaded guilty to felony mistreatment charges. He won’t be allowed to have any contact with his daughter without court supervision.

During testimony, investigators said that Cisero’s 15-year-old daughter had been willing to injure herself to feed her 46-year-old father’s addiction.

On May 1, Cisero’s daughter faked a scooter crash so he could claim the pain medicine doctors would give her, police said.

She was not seriously injured by the hammer blow.

The plan came to light when Cisero’s daughter talked about it to someone who tipped off police.
