Red Hat get-together is a Hoot

The third-annual South Coast Queens Red Hat Hoot was held last week at The Mill Casino-Hotel.
“This is the third year that I’ve gone to the Hoot, and this is the best that it’s been,” Flöri Pollard, of Reedsport, said.
The event featured live entertainment and raffle gift baskets, which averaged $250 to $350 in value. Vice Queen for the Bay Belles Red Hat group, out of Winchester Bay, claimed that a strong sense of sisterhood brings the Red Hats together each year.
“The camaraderie, mingling,” she said. “Besides, we all like to dress up in red and purple.”
