Cora Vandervelden is honored in Who’s Who

Cora Vandervelden, producer and customer service representative for Abel Insurance Agency in Coos Bay, has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who.
The Cambridge Who’s Who recognition is for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of insurance services, according to a press release.
Vandervelden brings 15 years of experience to Abel Insurance, an independent insurance agency specializing in business and personal insurance policies, risk management and consulting. As producer and customer service representative, she is responsible for business development and risk management, which covers personal and commercial insurance accounts.
A recipient of the Outstanding Customer Service Representative of the Year Award for Oregon and a National Finalist from National Alliance, she attributes her success to her ambition and to the support she receives from her colleagues, the press release said.
A certified insurance service representative, Vandervelden became an accredited adviser in insurance in 1998. In addition to industry-related training, she earned a bachelor of arts in music from the University of Oregon in 1976.
She is a member of the National Association of Insurance Women, Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives and is co-chairwoman of the membership committee for the Coos County Community Concert Association. She also serves on the City of Coos Bay Tree Board.
