Need art? Locals can supply it

I read the article headlines “No to terminal art, for now” (The World, July 26). Instead of waiting to spend $40,000 on filling the walls in the new terminal with art work, why not let local artists, sculptors, photographers and wood carvers donate their art throughout the airport?

There are many talented artists in this area who would be thrilled to have their work displayed and viewed by the many patrons who fly into North Bend. Many local artists have paintings or photographs of local scenes, such as the lighthouses and beaches in this area. This would give the artists and their artwork exposure and show what this coastal area has to offer. This also would save money for the airport. Why spend thousands of dollars when you don’t have to?
