The following are theft and criminal mischief reports from area police department logs.

Planned fire at Marshfield High School to repair valve
A neighbor called in a report of a fire Tuesday afternoon at Marshfield High School. There was actually a propane fire, but it was approved by the Coos Bay Fire Department, according to a fire department spokesman.

Police arrest one in theft case
A Brookings company reported on July 21 that thieves stole more than $45,000 in copper machinery cable. On Tuesday, Coos County Sheriff’s Office deputies found some of what is believed to be Tidewater Contractors Inc.’s missing gear in Bandon, a sheriff’s press release said.

Assault arrest
Police officers arrested a Bandon man on an assault-related charge Sunday.
