A little wash here, a little paint there

Matt Givens, left, and Bill Winfield, right, pressure wash items on the Coos Bay Boardwalk along the waterfront and the flagpoles on Tuesday. The two work for the Coos Bay Parks Department and are cleaning up the boardwalk railing in preparation for a fresh coat of paint. While they had the pressure washer, they cleaned the 25 white flagpoles that fly the flags of the United States and other countries from around the world that have sent cargo ships to Coos Bay. Steve Doty, the operations administrator for the Department of Community Services, said sometime within the next week, city crews will be painting the fence and railing along the boardwalk.-World photo by Lou Sennick
