ROSEBURG (AP) — Police arrested a registered sex offender accused of trying to abduct a 7-year-old Roseburg girl.
Kenneth T. Wolfe is in the Douglas County Jail on charges of attempted second-degree kidnapping and harassment.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the girl was riding her bicycle with a friend Monday when a man driving a green SUV allegedly stopped, grabbed the back of her shirt and tried to pull her in.
The girl broke free and hid in some bushes before running to a friend’s house.
The girl and her cycling friend later provided deputies with a detailed description of the man and the SUV.
The information helped lead police to Wolfe, and they arrested the 59-year-old following an interview.
