Tracy Martz, from the Coos County Oregon State University Extension Office 4-H School Enrichment program, will present “Bugs Pierce, Suck and Chew” at the final Summer Reading Program, at 1 p.m. at the Flora M. Laird Memorial Library, 435 Fifth St., Myrtle Point.

Gene Valerio, Frosty West, Bob Richardson, Dean Conyers and Clell Laird will perform  for a senior citizen dance at 1 p.m.  at Evergreen Court, on the campus of Baycrest Village at 451 O’Connell in North Bend. Admission is free, and the public can attend.  For more information, call 756-4466.

A caregiver support group will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at South Coast Hospice and Palliative Care Services Bereavement and Education Center, 1620 Thompson Road, Coos Bay.

The Video Voyage for July will be the second part of “Austria and Britain” with Rick Steves. It will show at 2 p.m. at the North Bend Public Library, 1800 Sherman Ave. For more information, call 756-0400.

A post traumatic stress disorder support group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Southwestern Oregon Veterans Outreach office, Suite 208 in the Pony Village Mall, 1611 Virginia Ave., North Bend. The meeting will end at 8 p.m.  For more information, call 756-8718.  

Bridge players will gather at 12:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays,  at the North Bend Senior Center, 1470 Airport Lane. For more information, call 756-7622.

TOPS No. 1135 will hold a weight-loss support meeting from 9:45 to 11 a.m. at Madison Street Community Church, 417 Madison St. in Coos Bay. For more information, call Bonnie at 266-9525.

Free counseling for combat veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and a specialized group for World War II and Korean Conflict veterans will be held at 2 p.m.  For more information, call the Eugene Vet Center’s Coos County contracted counselor, Susan Aviotti, LPC, at 756-7748.

HOT MEALS FOR SENIORS: Bay Area Senior Activity Center offers soups, salads, entrées and desserts at 11:30 a.m.  Wednesdays through Fridays. Cost is $3.50 for BASAC members, $4 for non-members.  BASAC is located at 886 S. Fourth St., Coos Bay. For more information, call 269-2626, 269-9551 or 396-4302.

The Coos Bay Kiwanis Club will meet at noon at the Red Lion Hotel, 1313 N. Bayshore Drive, in Coos Bay. For more information, call Howard Forte at 888-5498 or 267-3121.

An AL-ANON support meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Coos Bay, 123 Ocean Blvd.

THE NORTH BEND SENIOR CENTER’S luncheon program is available to everyone, not just seniors. Buffet-style meals are served from 11:30 a.m. until everyone is served, Mondays through Fridays. Meals cost $5 and monthly menus are available, at 1470 Airport Lane. Information is available at 756-7622.
