Reedsport police arrested a Reedsport woman Saturday after someone reported she stabbed a dog.

A witness told police a woman was stabbing a dog in the 2800 block of Longwood Drive. It happened at about 4:30 p.m., according to the Reedsport police bulletin. ha! that's funny!!! thats not even what happened. i know it was me and five other people saw it and only one said i stabbed the dog, a neighbor who doesnt like me because i dont take her bull. what happened was i threw a knife and a couple of othe pieces of silverware from inside my house, out the door, unfortunately, the knife got her barely, no stitches or vet visit was needed or nothing, just a big over-exaggeration!!! i ended up giving the dog to that neighbor, and she was the one who killed her,so what i have to say is, got a problem with me, come and handle it!!! otherwise dont judge a book by it's cover, before you know whats on the pages in-between. if you dont like me, you can bite me, beeotches!!!! and i wasnt even convicted, so what does that tell you?

I just read this.I hope she gets jail time.I am a dog owner who cleans up after not just my dog but after other dogs as well.To Animal Rights Comedy I think you miss read the artical the dog was not just cut it was Stabbed!A cut is an injury that would take maybe 5 stitches not 20+ stitches.I also think that our priorities should be for Americans and their animals first and the rest of the world 2nd.

This makes me sick. I can't believe people could do that to a dog. That is just wrong! I hope she gets what she deserves.

Local wrote on Aug 4, 2008 9:35 PM:

I agree, owners have the responsibility to clean up after their dogs (who should not be going the bathroom in other peoples' yards to begin with). Don't make the generalization that every dog owner permits their dog to do so, though. When I walk my dog, I pay attention to where it goes and I make sure it doesn't even walk, let alone go the bathroom, in a yard that isn't his own.

And to DJ - My dog is my child. I can't have children and he's as close as I'll get to one. Abuse is abuse, child or not. There's no excuse for it.

J wrote on Aug 4, 2008 8:27 PM:

While I disagree with the methods a lot are advocating, as a dog owner I have to say it drives me crazy to see a dog walker watch their dog go and continue on without doing anything about it. You give us a bad name. Put a bag or two in your pocket, suck it up and do what you're supposed to. Or don't have a dog.

Kris wrote on Aug 3, 2008 10:42 PM:

I never said that I would stab the dog did I! However, a BB in the butt will scare it away from doing their business in front of MY CAR where I walk every day. You dog owners make me SICK!!!!!

If you love your dog like you say you do. You would clean up the poop that they leave and be responsible dog owners. We have a saying "Here lies Rover Cold and Hard Last Darn Dog that Pooped in Our Yard"! Maybe a BB in the butt of the dog owner would be the smarter thing to do. It won't hurt you but it will sure sting a lot!

A dog is not the same thing as a CHILD! I cant believe i even read that!

SUSAN wrote on Aug 2, 2008 8:28 PM:

I certainly hope this woman will be held responsible not only for the incident but also for the medical bills she created. Animal abuse is always a symptom of a larger problem. I hope she is required to get psychological help and is placed some form of probation that prohibits pet ownership.

Think about this... both schools are located on Longwood dr. So are Barrone Park and the pool.

animal rights comedy wrote on Aug 2, 2008 12:45 AM:

It's funny to watch the silly animal rights fools come out over an article like this. Never mind the tens of thousands of humans that are starved/slaughtered/massacred all over the planet, but whoa, a dog gets cut and it's devastating to them. What happened to America's priorities?

dog shooter wrote on Aug 2, 2008 12:41 AM:

I've shot many a dog on my land for chasing livestock. If a dog can't stay on his own land, then he'll learn. People should probably use pellet guns at first so the dog gets the hint.

Random Reader wrote on Aug 1, 2008 9:36 PM:

That's sick! If the people who said they would do the same are sick too. If the lady had been attacked by the dog, it would have stated it in the artical.

That's sick! And the people who said they would do the same are sick too. If the lady had been attacked by the dog, it would have stated it in the artical. Think about people!

Random Reader wrote on Aug 1, 2008 9:32 PM:

People who abuse animals are horrible. If she was attacked by the dog first, don't you think it would have said something in the artical? Come, think people! As for the people who pretty much said that the dog deserved it should think about what they said. Some people can't have children, so they get dogs. You are pretty much saying that you would stab a child if they can in your yard or even near you. People like you are what make this world so sick.

Local Lady wrote on Aug 1, 2008 9:11 AM:

It's just sad what happened. That poor dog probably didn't even do anything to deserve that. I doubt it was attacking her either when she just so happened to be holding a knife. What are the chances of that? Oh wait! NONE! Animals can't defend themselves like we can and when we take advantage of that fact it just proves further what a weak-minded species we are as humans. These creatures trust us to provide them with a good life. If this woman doesn't serve time or at the very least be forced to do community service at the shelter shoveling s*** all day then she will have learned nothing.

Savannah wrote on Jul 31, 2008 7:45 PM:

That's horrible. It upsets me knowing someone would do that.

To Kris wrote on Jul 31, 2008 7:24 PM:

So you're going to stab someone's dog if it poops in your lawn?

Unknown wrote on Jul 31, 2008 6:16 PM:

Dogs do not have to feel threatened to be aggressive and attack. Our neighbor has a dog that is just plain mean. And he can't control it. Notice I said dog. He's not a pet, he's a dog. He is mean and chases kids and animals and the owner cannot control him. I'm not saying that the dog in Reedsport deserved to be stabbed, but if my neighbors dog comes in my yard again stabbing will be the least of his worries. I'm going to buy a cow and put it in my yard so that when that dog "attacks my livestock" I can shoot him. :)

Kris wrote on Jul 30, 2008 4:32 PM:

Maybe the dog was making a #2 in her front lawn for the twentieth time. Like the idiot dog owner in the empire area does RIGHT in front of my car so it gets stepped in. Let this be a warning to all dog owners ... clean up after your animals if you love them! Quit making your neighbors clean up after the mutts!

Samuel wrote on Jul 29, 2008 7:47 AM:

They need to treat this case like they would with Child abuse. Pets are family to people! But again these are the kind of people who have taken up residence in areas like this and the people who love it there end up moving away because of crimes like this. Public Floggings need to make a comeback. That is what small towns in the 1800's would do to locals who abused Children, Animals and committed various deplorable crimes...

ononomous wrote on Jul 28, 2008 9:37 PM:

yup...the Longwood drive area, especially the 2800 block is an area of decay. I used to live there, and was never so happy in my life to move from there.

reedsgirl wrote on Jul 28, 2008 7:09 PM:

what a crazy thing to do... animals are like your kids why would you do that? thats sick............

C wrote on Jul 28, 2008 6:08 PM:

Chances are the dog was not attacking her. Besides, dogs only attack when they feel threatened. Unless the dog was viciously attacking her and that was her only option, there is no excuse for what she did. People who abuse any living creature, whether it be human or animal, are the worst.

Longwood Drive IS the armpit of Reedsport. I thought everyone knew that!!!! FYI, I don't live in Reedsport.

CITIZEN wrote on Jul 28, 2008 4:58 PM:

Maybe the dog attacked her first.

Seems Longwood Drive is the armpit of Reedsport! It's almost always showing up in the police logs.

This is just wrong - she better go to jail for stabbing a defenseless animal!
I hope she has no kids either - who knows what she will do to them!
