Charleston cats to be trapped

Friday, July 25, 2008 |
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Friends of Animals With Needs will be trapping the feral cats at the Charleston Boat Basin. We need some help with finding them new homes. They are somewhat on the wild side and will need barns or shops. They are great cats and all spayed or neutered, tested, etc. This was done about four years ago by FAWN, and we took 14 babies and adopted them to good homes.
Since then, there has not been no new babies in that colony. It was a very well managed situation, and it was their home for a long time. Some of them are third generation. It is not their fault they were put in this situation in the first place.
Someone at sometime dumped these guys and was not responsible. The numbers are about 12 now. They can’t stay where they are any longer, so we need to get them into new homes where they can live out their lives or they will be euthanized.
We need help with these wonderful cats. Any good homes or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Please call 269-9462.
