Coquille registration nights set for new South Coast Youth Football League

Two registration sessions will be held in Coquille for the new South Coast Football League, a tackle football league for students in fifth and sixth grades.
The first session will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on July 29 at the Coquille Fire Station. The second will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Fire Station.
Practice will start on Aug. 25, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The cost to participate in the league is $100, and includes pads. Financial aid will be available.

Bay Area teams
Sessions were held recently in both Coos Bay and North Bend and another is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 16 at Marshfield High School.
A draft for players in the Bay Area will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 23 at Marshfield, and all players must have a copy of their birth certificate and have received a physical from a physician by that date.
A total of 51 players signed up in Coos Bay and North Bend and 19 more spots are available.
