Wind source of CB outages

More than 100 Pacific Power customers in the Coos Bay area lost service Tuesday night due to wind damage to power lines.

According to Pacific Power spokesman Tom Gauntt, eight customers in the East Catching Slough area were without power for more than an hour after a power line came down at about 6:45 p.m.

Shortly after power was restored to those houses, another 100 customers in the Anchor Lane area lost their service when another line fell. Gauntt said that area had its power restored by 9:41 p.m.

He was unsure if the lines were blown down or if they were knocked down by trees blown over in the wind.
