A Victorian tea is planned at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at AJ Sherwood Bed and Breakfast, 257 East Main St. in Coquille.

Reservations are be required, and the cost is $15.

Reunion at The Mill

Coquille High School class of 1988 will hold its 20-year class reunion Saturday and Sunday, July 19-20.

The class will meet for a dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Mill Casino-Hotel, 3201 Tremont Ave., North Bend. There  will be a picnic that weekend at Sturdivant Park.

Benefit breakfast

The Lakeside Lions breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at Lakeside Lions Hall, 890 Bowron Road. The cost is $7 or adults, $5 for kids under 12 and free for those under three. The all-you-can-eat breakfast will feature pancakes, sausage, eggs, and biscuits and gravy.

Proceeds will benefit Lakeside resident Judy Banks, who had emergency heart surgery recently and has no health insurance.

Vietnam wake-up

Charlie Sharps will share from his new book “One More Wake-Up: A Memoir of a Year Spent in Vietnam” at 1 p.m. Sunday at Books By The Bay, 1875 Sherman Ave., downtown North Bend.

Natural art

An artist reception, Heartfelt Portrayal of Nature featuring local artist Keith D. Russett, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m.  Sunday at Evergreen Court, 451 O’Connell, North Bend.

Russett’s art is on display through August.

Religious education

Children entering grades sixth through first can join the pilot year of new religious education classes in North Bend sponsored by the South Coast Unitarian Universalist and a parent co-op.  

Each session will include activities, stories, and discussion on a key spiritual or religious topic.  Initial sessions will be drawn from Margaret Gooding’s “A Stepping Stone Year.”

Classes will begin Sunday and will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the North Bend United Methodist Church, 2289 Meade St.

Participation in the classes is open to any interested children/families. The cost is $5 per child each month.

Day camp

The CampFire USA day camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 21 through July 25, at the National Guard Armory, 255 Norman Ave., Coos Bay.

The cost is $110 or $95 with a coupon available at Electric Hospital, 988 S. Broadway, Coos Bay. The first 30 campers who register will receive a box of CampFire candy. All campers will receive a free T-shirt.

The camp will feature outdoor activities, outdoor cooking, canoe safety, arts and crafts, hiking, singing, games and more.

Participants should bring a jacket, closed-toed shoes and a lunch.
