After the skate park groundbreaking ceremony, young skateboarders were treated to some cookies and drinks, courtesy of the Coos Bay City Hall staff on Tuesday. Citizens for Bay Area Youth submitted plans earlier this year to build a new skate park near Mingus Park. The first phase began last week with the pouring of new concrete. The plan also calls for expanding the skate park into the

This effort has involved many people (some who are no longer involved) not just the people that were at the ground breaking. I think the media is very aware of this since this project has been ongoing for more than a few years. EVERYONE who has helped with this project (even in the past) should receive credit for their part in helping to bulid this skatepark not just those at the ground breaking. Maybe having a picture of the cookie party was the best way to report this story.

Your article is not accurate. concrete has NOT been poured. The old concrete was dug up. New concrete will not be poured for another week or so. Why wasn't a picture of the ground breaking put in the paper instead? You make it sound like it was a cookie/drink party. Get your facts straight. if you can't remember what was said/done, you should have contacted someone from C-BAY or the City. I am the secretary for C-BAY and this is not good reporting on your part.
