Gloria Dei Lutheran Church’s congregation will sponsor the Grace Matters radio ministry that will be heard in the Bay Area on K-Light, 98.7 FM, beginning Sunday. The program will be aired on Sunday evenings at 5:30.
Grace Matters is the weekly 30-minute radio program of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. All production and broadcast operations are listener-supported.
The program is grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Host since 2005, the Rev. Peter W. Marty talks to a variety of guests each week. Grace Matters’ guests come from all walks of life. What they share in common is a desire to live faithful lives of Christ-like meaning and significance, a press release described.
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is located at 1290 Thompson Road, Coos Bay, with summer worship service each Sunday at 10 a.m.
VBS at Emmanuel Baptist
“Knight Crossing” vacation Bible school will begin Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 282 W. 6th St, Coquille. The Opening Faire from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday will be an open house for the whole family and registration for kids kindergarten through sixth grade. From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday kids can enjoy a vacation Bible school.
Girl’s Night Out
The theme of this month’s Girl’s Night Out is “Hawaiian Sands.” It will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Frazier’s banquet room, 23 E. First St., Coquille.
Debbie Piburn of Coquille will do a hula dance, and Janna Clifford of Cottage Grove will share her story of love and relationships.
Reservations are requested and should be canceled by Sunday or used by a friend. Free nursery will be provided with advanced request.

‘Let’s Do Lunch’
The July “Let’s Do Lunch” will be from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Red Lion Hotel, 1313 N. Bayshore Drive, Coos Bay. The luncheon and program cost $12.
Former nurse Janna Clifford of Cottage Grove will share a story of love and relationships.
Volney Facto of Coquille will share how to grow herbs for cooking, crafts and home remedies.
Reservations are required by Monday and should be canceled if unused. Complimentary childcare will be provided with advanced request. For more information and to make reservations, call Ruth at 759-3202.
