Power line down
Saturday, July 5, 2008 6:16 AM PDT

A downed power line in the Eastside area snarled traffic for more than an hour Friday.

A Coos Bay Police dispatcher said someone called at 11:24 a.m. reporting that a power line “just dropped” near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and I Street. Officers went to the scene and determined it was a live power line.

Coos Bay Police routed traffic around it for about an hour and a half. The line was expected to be repaired by 3 p.m., police said. Information about how many people were affected by the outage, or what caused it to drop, was not available by press time.
