The following activities are scheduled Monday in the area.
“Knight Crossing” vacation Bible school will begin Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 282 W 6th St. The Opening Faire from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday will be an open house for the whole family and registration for kids kindergarten through sixth grade
Southcoast Parents and Families of Lesbians and Gays will hold a Gay Bisexual Lesbian Transgender social from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, at a private home in North Bend. For more information and directions, those interested can call Judith 267-6508.
The Coquille Valley Art Center will host stained glass classes begining Monday. They will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays. The seven-week class will be at the Coquille Valley Art Center. For more information, call Cheryl at 572-2302 or the Art Center at 396-3294.
VFW Post 7488 invites people who have served in the military and were in a combat to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Post 7488 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at Gussie’s, 1088 Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay. For more information, call at 888-4959.

Pinochle players will gather at 1 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at the Bay Area Senior Center, on the corner of Fourth Street and Ingersoll Avenue.
Bridge lessons will be offered from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. each Monday at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 400 Highland Ave., in Coos Bay.
HOT MEALS FOR SENIORS: Bay Area Senior Activity Center offers soups, salads, entrées and desserts at 11:30 a.m. each day except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Cost is $3.50 for BASAC members, $4 for non-members. The resale shop is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. BASAC is located at 886 S. Fourth St., Coos Bay. THE NORTH BEND SENIOR CENTER’S luncheon program is available to everyone, not just seniors. Buffet-style meals are available from 11:45 a.m. until everyone is served, Monday through Friday. Meals cost $5 and monthly menus are available. For more information, those interested can call 756-7622.
The Compassionate Friends will hold monthly meetings for ffamilies who have lost a child.
