Emergency helicopters on display

Thursday, July 03, 2008 |
Emergency Airlift, a local air ambulance company, has put two newly purchased Bolkow-BO105S helicopters into service. These helicopters will be dedicated solely to Emergency Medical Services work in Oregon, west of the Cascade Mountain range, according to a press release.
Emergency Airlift will have the helicopters on display from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, at its North Bend headquarters, 1180 Airport Way, where they will be conducting a drawing for several free demonstration flights available to Emergency Airlift members. Nonmembers can sign up online or during the event.
The helicopters will be the first EMS helicopters based at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in North Bend and the Roseburg Municipal Airport. They are part of Emergency Airlift’s fleet of six EMS fixed-wing aircraft and two long range EMS jets, servicing air ambulance bases in Oregon, California, Nevada and Guam. The helicopters are capable of transporting one patient with a critical care specialty team directly from hospital to hospital.
